Big News for Treargel

We have a big change coming here at Treargel, which I'll tell you about at the end.

Summer Lovin’

It’s been a brilliant summer here, in spite of the weather.

16 Pilgrims passed though on the Cornish Celtic Way; including a 9-year-old, his mum, and grandma. Two families returned for their 5th visit, a couple celebrated their anniversary, and some Canadians attempted to cycle the tiny Cornish Lanes.

But most just came on their own; to rest, find peace, and breathe deeply.

A guest returned to enjoy three weeks in the Shepherd’s Hut. Due to a health condition she needs to stay in very quiet places, finding even speech painful. Here’s what she wrote;

See you next year
“Wow. Just Wow! Treargel is just the most restorative healing place one could hope to find. I came here feeling so empty and go away feeling full of the brightest sunshine. To my mind there are no other spaces I feel more held and safe than the Sheppie Hut, under this amazing protective Alder. Thank you everso, and until next year”.

Cosy by the fire this Autumn

I have been preparing for when it gets cold, so that you can all be warm and toasty. Watch me get busy with my chainsaw on Instagram or Facebook. You can also take a look at reels of each of our beautiful spaces, guests, and our bat. The baby pipistrelle was so cute, the video went viral.

Don't forget to 'like' and 'share' us, thank you.

Pass on a good word

We are so happy that people love to come here and often return. One guest on her third visit of 2024, lovingly called it her ‘bolt hole’. This year, over 67% of you have either been before or were recommended by a friend. However, before the summer Cornwall saw a sharp decline in visitors, and this was also true for Treargel. So, if you’ve ever enjoyed staying here, and to help us through this next winter season, please consider leaving us a short review on Google. According to them, we just need a couple more to get twice as many guests. Thank you.

Don't let Money be a barrier

We realise not everyone can afford a retreat. Therefore, if you have someone in mind whom you would like to suggest, I have a few alternatives for them.

  • There is a fabulous new Teachers Bursary, from the Association for Promoting Retreats. We know teachers work really hard, so please pass this message on to them. They can come here to Treargel (or other APR retreats) and find time and peace in which to recuperate.

  • For others, I have one General Bursary left for this financial year.

    (All bursaries are for 50% of the cost, up to £150).

  • If you book by the end of September, for any time next year, I will give you 2024 prices.

  • Get one extra free night, when you book 7 nights.

Our Big News

I can now reveal that our big news for Treargel is that we have one more year of this adventure.

We were always here for a set amount of time, and Clare and Artie, who created this fabulous place, need to sell to improve their Melbourne retreat. Therefore, we will be wrapping up around November 2025.

So now is an ideal time to book and make sure you can come here one last time. Before all the places go. (The Shepherd’s Hut is already booked for 3 weeks). And don't forget the deals I've mentioned above.

We will be reflecting a lot in the next year but for now, as someone once sang;

"Every new beginning, comes from some other beginning's end.'

(Closing Time by Semisonic)

I'll leave you with me preparing Treargel for the winter. Come and cosy up by the fire.
